About Heather

I'm Heather Soady-Easton. I have a Master of Social Work degree (MSW) and am a Registered Social Worker (RSW), with more than 20 years of experience supporting people through difficult situations, navigating complex systems, and figuring out what comes next.

My approach is practical, straightforward, and focused on helping people make sense of their options. Sometimes that means finding the right service or resource. Sometimes it means preparing for a difficult conversation, understanding a system, or simply having someone help you work through the next step.

I work with individuals, families, and caregivers who are dealing with a wide range of circumstances. My goal is to make complicated things easier to understand and help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

My Approach

I believe that support should start with where you are, not where you think you’re supposed to be. My role is to listen, help you sort through what’s going on, and make sense of your options. That can mean finding the right service or resource, talking things through, preparing for a difficult conversation, or figuring out what to do next.

My Experience

My career has included work in hospital and community mental health settings, where I’ve supported people through a wide range of challenges. Over the years, I’ve learned that finding the right support isn’t always straightforward — and sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to begin.

My experience has given me a broad understanding of the services, systems, and supports people may encounter. Sherpa grew from wanting to use that experience in a practical way: helping people find their way through those systems when they need a little extra help.

What does “Sherpa” mean?

sherpa noun
1. A person who guides and assists others in navigating challenging terrain, particularly in mountainous regions.
2. A trusted guide who helps others find their way through difficult or unfamiliar territory.

Think of a Sherpa as someone who knows the terrain when life gets a little messy and you don't have a map. They know where some of the obstacles are, can help you figure out which way to go, and walk alongside you while you find your footing.

That's the idea behind Sherpa Social Work Co. It's about having someone alongside you who can help you understand the terrain, make sense of your options, and figure out where to go from here.

Life doesn't come with a map.
